Find out more about the IGCSE top achiever at Huili’s open day on 18 March
When the IGCSE results were released in 2022, one could not help but search for the top achievers and the stories behind them. We are incredibly proud to have become the school where the highest score for Art IGCSE was achieved in 2022.
What is IGCSE?
IGCSE is the abbreviation of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is one of the world’s most popular international qualifications taken by the largest cohort of 14 to 16-year-olds and widely recognised by top universities and colleges worldwide. In 2022, over 5.3 million pupils sat the exam.
Opened in August 2018, Huili School Hangzhou, a member of the Wellington College Hangzhou, is a private bilingual school that covers pre-school, nursery, primary, junior high and sixth form. The school combines frontline educational philosophies with Chinese culture and brings the essence and experience of British elite education to Hangzhou. It is where pupils experience authentic British education and well-rounded education to truly realise diverse development, where they can find their passion, embrace more possibilities and become the best version of themselves.

What to expect
Kathryn Richardson, Master of Wellington College Hangzhou, will present a general introduction about the Wellington family.
Ivey Wang, Principal of Huili School Hangzhou, will introduce the educational ethos of Huili Nursery Hangzhou and Huili School Hangzhou.
Campus tour: experience the excellent campus environment and state-of-the-art school facilities. There will also be mini-lessons available for Junior High and Sixth Form pupils.
Q&A session: Answering your questions and exploring further topics of interest.
Master of Wellington College Hangzhou
Kathryn Richardson Kathryn holds a bachelor’s degree in Education, specialising in maths and science. In addition to this, she has a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Management and is a qualified facilitator for the National Qualifications of Middle and Senior Leadership. She has been in education for over 20 years, with substantial teaching and leadership roles in London and Dubai.
Principal of Huili School Hangzhou
Ivey WangGraduated from East China Normal University with a bachelor's degree in Chinese International Education and completed a master's degree course in Educational Psychology; she also holds a master's degree in Education from Plymouth State University. Ivey has been engaged in international education for nearly 17 years.
